Suja Lane Reconstruction and Drainage Improvements Project

Copperas Cove, Texas – The City of Copperas Cove Suja Lane Reconstruction and Drainage Improvements Project has received a notice to proceed effective Monday, September 18, 2023. Work on this project is expected to be completed by mid-June 2024. The project consists of reconstruction of approximately 1,700 linear feet of roadway and associated stormwater drainage infrastructure for improved usage, safety, and mitigation of existing street flooding.

Utility Engineering Group was engaged in December of 2021 to provide scope of services, which included design, construction bidding, and project management. The construction bid contract was awarded to JKB Construction Company, LLC by City Council on August 7, 2023 in the amount of $944,974.00. Funding for this project is identified in the 2015 and 2022 Tax Supported Certificates of Obligation and in the Drainage Fund Operating Budget.

The project will be completed in a manner as to allow minimal interruption to traffic flow. Should a temporary street closure become necessary, proper notice will be provided. All motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to follow posted construction signs for the safety of themselves and work crews.
