2020 US Citizenship and ESLClasses
The Killeen-Fort Hood LULAC Council 4535 and the Killeen Daily Herald will
sponsor a Citizenship Civics and ESL Class during the period 14 March-13 June
2019. LULAC Council 4535 has been presenting this course in the local area since
2014 and over 300 people have attended our courses. LULAC Council 4535 has
previously partnered with St Joseph Catholic Church, St Martin Episcopal Church
and the Copperas Cove Public Library to present the course. This is the second
time that the Killeen Daily Herald has participated in this project.
In order to attend this course you must be a legal resident of the United States for
at least 5 years (3 if married to a US Citizen) and fill out a Registration Form for
the courses... Classes will be conducted at the Killeen Daily Herald building in
Killeen every Saturday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Applications/Registration
Forms are now available by contacting the Course Coordinator.
The course will prepare applicants to take the US Citizenship Naturalization Test
which is admininstered by the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) The
LULAC Council 4535 course is free, however applications for Naturalization to
USCIS requires a fee of $725.00.
The Citizesnhip Course will cover US History, Civics, US Government, as well as
English as Second Language (ESL). The course also includes an initial consultation
with Immigratioin Attorneys from the Central Texas Catholic Charities Office in
Austin. The course includes preparation of and assembling documents to be
submitted with the Application for Naturalization, Form N-400. In order to
successfully complete this course, applicants MUST attend at least 75% of the
Instruction presented.
